On the last day of the shortest month of the year, we are thrilled to kickoff Black History Year—let's keep a great thing going! Celebrating Black Excellence happens everyday at Sip & Sonder, so join us Wednesday, February 28 for an evening of art, culture, and community.
Our first Artist Talk features John Simmons, ASC, an Emmy award-winning cinematographer, professor, painter, and collage artist who has captured historic moments in history such as Black Panther Party meetings, the 1968 Democratic National Convention, icons such as Nina Simone and Angela Davis, and most importantly the everyday lived experience of people of color around the world.
From February 22 through March 7, Sip & Sonder will display work from Simmons's 2016 show entitled "It Started In the 60s," as well as never-before-seen mixed media collage pieces. These works are on loan from The Perfect Exposure Gallery.
RSVP to join us at our first ever #SonderGallery event.
We can't wait to see you there!
